Yesterday Wildhood invited partners and friends to an exclusive event in collaboration with Damien Mander, founder of IAPF – International Anti Poaching Foundation in Stockholm. The events main objective was to raise awareness about poaching and wildlife trafficking. Damien talked about the critical situation that our wildlife is facing and what his operations on the ground in southern Africa is doing to protect rhinos and elephants from the extreme threat of poachers. IAPF works on the front-line of conservation, helping rangers to protect wildlife and surrounding ecosystems.
”It’s amazing that people around the world care about the struggle of rangers on the front lines defending our wildlife. After all the wildlife are a global treasure and we are all responsible for their safety. Wildhood Foundation is leading the way in Scandinavia for supporting the efforts of rangers and we are truly grateful for this”, Damien Mander commented.
Damien Mander, a former Royal Australian Navy Clearance Diver and Special Operations Sniper, left Iraq in 2008 after serving no less than 12 tours of duty. After travelling though South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe in 2009, experiencing poaching first hand, he decided to put his life savings on the line to found IAPF.
