448 RHINOS POACHED IN SOUTH AFRICA IN 2022 💔🦏
These are the official numbers reported by the South African government, however, the actual numbers are believed to be higher considering animals that were never found and calves that are not included in the statistics.
The total remaining population of black and white rhinos is estimated to be around 12.000 individuals.
In the last decade 9.885 rhinos have been lost to poaching.
These are critical numbers and immense actions need to be taken to safeguard and restore the rhino population. ⚠️
