8 June, 2024

Name: Vilma Lindvall

Does: Wildhood Foundation’s Social Media Manager & vetstudent.

Lives: Lithuania

Favourite animal: Horse

What do you do as a Social Media Manager?

I am the one who plans, creates and schedules all communication that comes out in our social channels so our followers can get an insight into all of our fantastic work. I also support our founder in parts of her work!

How do you want to contribute?

I want to put Wildhood on the map for more people. I want to share knowledge – not only about our organisation but also about the importance of conservation and the role biodiversity plays for the planet and our survival. I also want to send some hope out to our followers by sharing our fantastic results!

Why is conservation important to you?

Conservation of wild animals and animal rights are two things that have always played a huge role in my life. Even as a child, I was very aware and strongly affected by animal cruelty and the older I got, the more this resonated in me. Then, it was just a matter of time before I realized I wanted to dedicate my life to threatened species.

Our board member Helena Thybell said it so well in her Family & Friends interview: It is about dignity.

What are you looking forward to?

The present! A year ago, I moved from Sweden to Lithuania to begin my vet studies – a lifelong dream that finally was achieved, and I look forward to being in this world. At the same time, I look forward to my continued journey with Wildhood Foundation.

What are your dreams?

My biggest dream is to specialize in emergency field surgery, move to Africa and work with elephants, rhinos and conservation in general!

Do you have an idol?

Wildhood’s founder, Filippa Tarras-Wahlberg, is my idol! She is an incredibly inspiring human being, and I enjoy working with her so much!

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

The ability to download knowledge into my brain! As a student, this wish has only grown stronger, haha.
